[Loki does NOT plan on telling the Swede that sometimes people hunt and kill these precious things for their coats. This one is safe for life, regardless, and as far as he can tell, the mother was eaten by an orca or shark.

When petted, the seal makes a funny beeeeeehhhhhh noise, halfway between a lamb and a human complaining. It feels safe for the moment, but it might be confused.

Have you ever heard stories about Selkies? Irish fairy tales. Supposedly, there are sea beings that are seals half the time and can take off that form like a skin to look human and visit the shore.

This isn't one, obviously, but it's a good story.
