Saul was going to get him out on bail, so he could go back to Mexico. The end!
But then, right before the lawyer had finished leaving he had stopped.
And posed Lalo with one of the few questions that ever would, or could, completely confound him. He repeats it like Saul just spoke to him in a foreign language. There's a quirk first of his mouth, then of his whole head, then a confused little sparkle in his eyes, as repeats the question in a tone of voice that definitely laughing-in-a-mean-way under the initial surprise and confusion.
"...if I had a time machine, where would I... go...?"
Lalo sits all the way back in his chair and snorts.
