As far as he cares, the fewer of these psychos out there in any vicinity to him, the better. But he can't say that, and instead, trains his face to look sympathetic as Lalo explains his situation. And truthfully, ignoring his own feelings about Tuco, it's not hard to be a bit sympathetic here.
