[the shrill tirade can be heard long before the guard opens Sam's cell door and pushes in a short, salt-and-pepper-haired, energetic little man:]

I've got half a mind to break straight into that speech from Twelve Angry Men - of course when I directed it, it was all women, but --

[and there he is, and the door clangs shut behind him.]

[upon realizing he's not alone, his face brightens, transforming from every retail employee's worst nightmare to looking as though he's two seconds away from offering her a Werther's]

Well hello. I didn't think I was going to have company, dear, I'm sorry about that. Horrible first impression, I'm sure. Oliver Putnam, a joy to meet you.

[ The sweet, lulling dream was being yanked away so bastardly by the shrill voice slowly inching closer. There Sam was, head and body leaning against the wall as she slowly wiggled awake, seated on the cold steel bench and awaiting to hear about her, uh, predicament.

Once the incessant monologue got too close, she was yanked away from slumber's grip fully and ready for anything, only to notice this event happening before her eyes. Confusion, utter confusion written all over her face watching the jail cell's door violently close behind her new cellmate. Especially when his behavior changed completely upon noticing her. Keeping her sane distance, Sam just... tried to be polite. ]

Uh, pleasure to meet you. [ A brief pause to look around. ] Not that I'm elated to be here, really. I'm Sam.

[ She's not going to disclose neither her last name nor any more information, not even if he asks. Already distrusting a stranger. ]

1. Drunk & Disorderly: "I am not drunk or intoxicated. I was talking to Jon." (/motions to an empty, silent section of wall where he sees and hears Jon)

2. Breaking & Entering: "There were documents vital for solving my case, and if the local police had listened to me earlier, we would not be in this situation."

3. Grand Theft Auto: "I can't tell you why that cab was at the manor, but if you give me a few minutes on the scene, I could tell you why, who drove it there, and when."

4. Kidnapping: "Why would I kidnap anyone when the whole affair would only be a study in agony every step of the way?"

5. Murder: "The body was like that when I found it. I was looking for clues to their killer, who, by the way, is currently out there free."

6. Any, all, or none of these: "... Mycroft is never going to let me hear the end of this..."

Short version- A blue-collar kaiju corpse cleaner who has mysteriously started turning into a kaiju himself. He is always getting into trouble, but is a good guy!

Comical scenes of recalling the ridiculous shenanigans welcome, as are grimmer things like some kind of people with dangerous powers holding cell.

[ Walker committed 2, 3, 4, 5, or stalking. Mary's waking up and dealing with the consequences. Or vice versa, with Mary having committed 1 in some kinda cute dumb way. Or third option, Typhoid went on a murder spree and neither of them have any clue what's up. ]

[Good for any of the options, though if it's a murder it's probably not the one she actually committed.]

[Probably didn't kill anyone, also probably did it as Jen otherwise they would have put her in a much sturdier prison.]

Jesus has no intention of staying here the night. It's a cell in a small town, the lowest grade security he's ever seen. It'll be a piece of cake.

Until they bring in another prisoner. That complicates things. So he waits until the guard leaves the room.

"Hey. What'd they get you for?"

((He definitely belongs here. Who knows what he did this time.))

"For being awesome," Gabe drawls, because he's still in the fun stages of drunk off his ass and he is not about the small town life or small town bars with weak beer. He toggles his tech, angling his head like he's watching the stranger, and keeps his back to the wall even as he spreads his hands out, flapping to emphasize the point - and draw attention away from the fact his eyes don't quite track. "Or maybe hitting somebody with a bottle, who fucking knows. Hi. We having fun?"

[ This is some absolute fucking bullshit. Nacho is cooperating fully because he knows how this shit works, externally calm and mild mannered during booking... but inside he's boiling with anger. He declines his one phone call, instead passing Jimmy's card to the desk officer before he's led back to the cells. The less he says where it's monitored the better, even if he legitimately had nothing to do with the Kettleman's disappearing act.

When the guard opens the gate he steps in; he turns around when ordered; holds out his hands for the cuffs to be removed and nods politely in thanks before the gate is slammed shut for the night. There's another man on the other bunk in the small cell, which is a sign they expect them both to be in for awhile... but at least it's not the drunk tank. Nacho's had enough getting puked on by idiots for a lifetime, thanks.

He crosses to the free bunk and sits for the time being, exhaling heavily. It's the first sign he's let slip of how pissed he is and it's subtle, easily shrugged off as exhaustion should anyone ask. But it's not that. Actually, that thought makes him realize he doesn't know what time it is. And he's pretty hungry, booking took forever. ]

Hey. [ The other guy in the cell hasn't looked at him yet and Nacho's not usually one to initiate conversation, but it's not like there's anyone else to ask. ] They feed you yet?

[ This is so much fun. Gabe groans, one arm flung over his face, and flaps his free hand vaguely at the stranger. He's still halfway drunk from the night before and all those awesome shenanigans, but he figures Jackie will bail him out sooner than later. Probably. Assuming Jackie and his merry band of psychopaths aren't dead in a ditch somewhere.

With this line of work, you never can tell.

He toggles his tech, though, fighting back a wince as he processes the scans. Sizing up the other guy without looking like he's doing it - sometimes, there are advantages to having an AI drilled into your skull. Otherwise, why would anyone do it? ]

This look like five star accommodations? Hope you're not expecting a mint on your pillow, they're fresh out. I'm going to leave a bad review.

[ Despite himself, Nacho's lips quirk up. That's not an answer to the question he asked, but it's funny. As if county is a bed and breakfast. ]

Not yet, huh? One star on yelp.

[ Instinct tells him to leave it at that so he doesn't ask anything else just yet, but he is studying his cellmate now. Checking for obvious injuries, since he's acting like he's got one hell of a headache. Did the cops do that? Is he just hung over? Did he get dragged in from a fight?

Could be anything. Could be none of them. ]

Don't think they feed people around here, not unless you really want to start bitching.

[ Seems like that sort of place. Gabe's been shuffled around shitholes like this for years now: you get used to the patterns, the feel of a place. At least nobody's kicked the shit out of him yet. One of the guards noticed his eyes don't track right off and asked where his cane was, if he knew, and Gabe didn't kick her in the shins when she was taking his fingerprints so he figures that almost makes them friends.

Still hasn't gotten him any food, though. Probably won't. But you have to take these things on balance.

He drops his arm, toggling his tech again. ]

So. Now, I gotta ask the traditional question: what're you in for, roomie? C'mon, hold nothing back. Inquiring minds really wanna know.
