The Traveling Meme

You're on your way from point A to point B, and you've chosen one of the many forms of communal conveyance to do so! Let's see what your trip looks like today.

  1. Train: The Orient Express if you're feeling fancy, your standard intercity line if you're not, but no matter how humble the train there's always a little bit of romance to the rail.
  2. Plane: It may be the type of travel we least look forward to. Go ahead and stuff your character in coach--unless they're one of the blessed few who can afford knee room in business class.
  3. Ship: The heyday of the grand passenger liners, a tall ship (preferably with a star to steer her by), or the ferry.
  4. Bus: Whether it's a school bus, a Greyhound, or your regular commuter ride... we know you're not wearing the seatbelt like you're supposed to.
  5. Stagecoach: Some old-timey fun!
  6. Airship: Listen, JRPGs had it right when they decided these should be a normal thing.
  7. Spaceship: For that sci-fi feel! To boldly get Ubered where no one has Ubered before.

Scenarios

  1. I brought a book for a REASON: You're just trying to make this journey in peace and quiet but for the person in the seat next to you....
  2. Stalled: Well, now you're really not there yet, because your mode of transport has stopped working--thrown a wheel or can't get off the tarmac or lost the breeze. Better figure out something to do in the meantime.
  3. Stand and deliver! Dammit, it's bandits, or robbers, or some other kind of ne'er do well--or maybe you're the one pulling the heist.
  4. Running: Not literally, obviously, but you're trying to get away from something bad. Let's hope it's not catching up to you a few seats down....
  5. Disaster! This isn't just inconvenient, it's catastrophic! Good thing you're here to save the day, right? ...Right?
  6. Actually having a nice time: It's just pleasant to sit and look out windows while someone else does the steering, you know?

Seth 🐐 Radiant

An odd but kind young man on a quest to stop the appearance of monsters called Nemesis that fall from the sky. Due to the prejudice against those who can use magic like him, he's been raised mostly away from society but has set out on his own and can't help causing chaos.

Optional starter-

Can't spell 'strained' without 'train'

You can meet anyone on the subway. Including a teenager with horns, covered in bruises and cuts, with an ancient bronze puzzle box on his lap. He fiddles with it thoughtfully. Though he's so beat the chances of him solving it are drastically reduced, with his mental capacity reduced by the long adventure he's clearly been through. It's probably for the best- the thing looks super cursed.

"…You any good at these?" He asks, glancing up from his artefact to whoever is sitting directly across from him.

Anakin looks both more tired than anyone has a right to, deep dark circles under his eyes, hair greasy and limp, a slump to good shoulders. But he also looks haunted, like only war veterans can.

"Uhm?" It's a sound of 'I heard you' more than an answer, eyes focusing on the kid across from him before the box, ears filtering out background noise and focus on what was asked, then answers before the kid can repeat himself. "Sometimes." He looked around, finding a pair of empty seats. "Here, come over here " He got up to talk over to them.

"Well, okay, but don't think I'll follow strange men anywhere," Seth says with slightly narrowed eyes, though he's honestly just being silly. Seth wobbles a little when he walks, not just from the train swaying but from the aftereffects of being smacked about. He's not entirely sure why Anakin wants to take him to a different spot in the train...

But it's probably a good idea, because the puzzle box looks so cursed. The fewer people around when it's fiddled with the better.

"That's a good rule to have actually." He didn't mind - he was a stranger, and a dangerous one. And it wasn't like he didn't have a similar role when he was young.

The wobbling concerns him, and he wished he was better at Force Healing, but he knows he can help a little, if he's allowed.

Seated where they can sit beside each other with the box between them, it gives Anakin a fair better space to poke at the box. And a place to cover overs, if he needs to. The box bleeds Dark.

Even if the boy doesn't. "Name's Anakin, by the way. You mind if I?" He motioned picking up the box.
