Considering my own attempts to change fate... I cannot be surprised that there might exist a history where my fate simply never was.

O...Our Queen? [ Her brows knit together in confusion. The land she knows is still divided into clans that perpetually battle each other. ]

I can't speak about what could be in the future, but the land of fairies has had no gods for thousands of years. Or—   [ She pauses to whisper, her hand grips the staff she holds tighter. ] A holy sword.

[ That Holy Sword was never forged, leading to the destruction of gods, mankind, and the metamorphosis of the surface into a primordial sea. ]

[ But she doesn't really want to consider that. This whole interplay is already odd enough as it is. ]

You mean Excalibur? That holy sword?

Ahahah. We're resilient! And we were on the Reverse Side when that happened. [ Aesc averts her gaze. ] There are humans too, but, mm, they are a creation of fairies. Most fairies regard them as their belongings.

[ She has never met one in person either. But she's read about them in her books. They sound wondrous. ]

I don't. I hope someday fairies and humans will live as equals. When the war and strife between the clans end.

Although I am not a native of your world, I share that hope. Humans are worthy of living lives and finding their own path - not just existing as mere objects.

I know. Nobody should suffer or be treated less than others. And this ongoing conflict between fairies is completely unnecessary. Since you mentioned a Queen, perhaps that will finally end.

Are you doing it for the history aspect or because of the dangers that lie in that sort of activity?

It's definitely a feeling you have to get used to. I don't think acting comes naturally for everyone. But the thrills of getting into character and portraying that character's whole life story on stage is more than worth it.

Yeah, you could say that. I'm pretty sure they don't know about everything they've buried over the past thousand years. [Like a squirrel forgetting where it's hidden its caches.] Even under their own city. Did you know that they had a second, worse labyrinth under Bevelle?

That sounds really fun. Once when I was younger i thought to myself 'oh acting would be very cool to get into' but then i realized.. [She motions to her phone. Talking seemed to be pretty important and that is something she didn't do, if at all.]

Convenient - even if it is grotesque even by my standards. I'm pleased to say that doesn't sound much like my people. We're called Yeerks; as I mentioned, we remain in one form our entire lives. We do wrap around our hosts' brains, but we don't harm them. That would defeat the purpose of having a host at all.

And we certainly don't clamber in through anyone's eyes. Only their ears.
