[ He certainly existed. How many other myths and legends can she tell him about? Luke is curious but doesn't want to make this an interrogation. ]

How is it?

[ Instead of sipping his own soda, he swirls the stray a little, hands idly busy. ]

It's probably not as good as wine or something more fancy, but there's a charm in bar beer, too.

[ She responds with a slow nod and another sip. ]

Different from the wine and beer of my own time. But enjoyable.

[ She cocks her head curiously. ]

What do you think of your own beverage?

[ His shoulders sag in relief. Luke doesn't have the resources to really treat a king so it's good that she finds his world enjoyable instead. ]

It's just a soda. You ever have one?

I've had one or two since my arrival in this era.

[ She nods. ]

They're very sweet, usually.

This one is a diet so it's less sweet. I'm not playing sports as much anyway so I can't be as crazy as I was then.

[ She lens over and picks the glass up. She takes a cautious sip and then sets it back down. ]

...perhaps too sweet for my taste. At least in liquid form.

With his drink back, Luke takes another sip and sits back in his chair. This isn't how he thought the day would go.[]

It sounds like you have some pretty heavy stuff going on. What are you going to do after?

...I don't entirely know.

[ She shrugs a little sheepishly. ]

It depends on what happens.

If you win.

[ Luke is making a lot of assumptions. He knows nothing about war, he knows nothing about her circumstances, and he doesn't think satisfying his curiosity is the way to go. But, he knows that those who lose a war don't usually survive. He doesn't want to think of this bright person in front of him dying. ]

If everything you want to happen happens, then what would you do?

...I don't properly know at this point. It's something I have to think about.

[ At one point she thought of removing herself entirely from existence, but now... hard to say. ]

It's something I've thought about a little. But I don't have an answer yet.

[ There's no rush. He doesn't think. He really... has no idea what's happening in her life though they are strangers. Luke just doesn't want to assume much about such a serious topic. ]

How about music? Do you listen to music? Like, the modern kind? I don't know what they listened to back then.

We had music in my court, but it was obviously quite different from the music of today. I need to explore it a little more than I have, honestly. I simply haven't felt like I had the time...
