You and whoever replies to you are stuck together after falling in a hole.

You're in a deep, dark pit that you can't climb out of easily, and you're trapped together. Maybe it was a trapping pit, maybe it was an open manhole cover, maybe an uncovered well or elaborate secret trap in a spooky house - but whatever the cause was, you two fell for it. Literally.

[Subaru's falling on top of you. So, thank you for breaking the fall!

That said, he's quite disoriented because it's that strange sensation again, like he's just been transported somewhere else entirely. Of course, there's the added bonus of suddenly falling and for quite some distance. Before he can even process this fact, he comes to a halt, albeit a bit softer than anticipated. But of course; he's landed on someone. He never did get to experience the "falling from the sky" trope before, so maybe he was past due for this...

But wait— What if he landed on a cute girl!? This is the opposite of what's supposed to happen!! They should be landing on him instead! He quickly tries to lift himself up to make sure that's not the case, though it does seem as though he's landed on someone a bit more sturdy.]

Ow... Sorry about that. [And that's when he notices the familiar face beneath him.] Hey! What are you doing here?

[ Roland gathers his bearings a bit faster than Subaru, though the weight on top of him is only mildly uncomfortable as limbs and bodies shift around the damp, narrow space. He chuckles upon realizing who it is, shaking his head free from any dirt or dust, a small smile drawn upon his face, calmer than most people would probably look given the circumstance. The guy knew how to roll with the punches. ]

Oh, you know. Thought it might be a good idea to fall down strange holes and see what's at the bottom. Heh.

[ The sarcasm is good-natured. ] Are you alright? Didn't break anything?

[ He manages to get up and kneel on one leg, observing Subaru closely. ]

I think nothing but my sense of immersion. But that's probably thanks to you.

[Subaru follows suit, pushing himself off the ground enough to sit back, and he folds his legs as he rests his hands behind him, squinting at the view above. It's... a long way to the top. And to be dropped in a location like this, there's no telling where they are, like... what world, even. It's amazing when that becomes a thing you have to distinguish.]

The fact that we can handle a situation like this so well speaks volumes about our experiences with isekai.

[ Ascertaining that his companion is alright, Roland stands to full height with just enough room to spare, his hands grazing the edges of the rock and limestone walls as if looking for a switch. Hey, with these things, you never know right? ]

I'd rather follow your lead, if I'll be honest. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders, no matter what life seems to throw at you. Other worlds or not. Heh.

[ Accepting that there was no secret doorway to some secret exit at the bottom of the hole, Roland tilts his chin upwards and looks beyond as well, pondering their next move. ]

Say, you ever heard of the movie The Emperor's New Dance?

[ He probably meant 'The Emperor's New Groove', but since Roland is an alternate version of regular Earth, there's bound to be some nuances and definitely not so the player can take liberties with him being president. ]

I don't know where that confidence comes from, but I'll take the compliment, regardless. Are you sure you're not just shirking the responsibility onto someone else, though, Mr. President?

[Subaru will never not take the opportunity to make jokes about that. He watches as Roland tests the walls, like a true pro, and stands up so that he can do the same on his end. Unfortunately, he finds nothing amiss, and the walls are disappointingly smoothed out, leaving no option to even attempt scaling them.]

I feel like I know what you're talking about, but I think it was called something... a little different. It was a kid's movie, if I recall? Can't say that I've seen it, though. Why do you ask?

[ He jokes right back, though the chuckle from his lips begets the fact that they're still stuck in a hole with quite a climb up. They really were too used to this whole 'whisked away into some random place' bit. ]

Because speaking of collaboration, there's a part there where the two main characters climb up a narrow cliff by hooking their arms together while back-to-back.

[ His hand rests under his chin in thought. Serious thought. ]

...Ah, but neither of us have a neck long enough to push the other close to the edge.

[ He likes movies, ok. ]

[Someone needs to point out when ideas are ridiculous, and fortunately, Subaru is here to provide. Although, can he really complain about a ridiculous idea when he hasn't even that to offer?]

I never expected you'd be the type to believe everything you see in movies, especially a kids one...

[Although, now that he thinks about it, Roland does have two(?) kids he looks after; maybe that checks out a little.]

I wish we could find so convenient a solution, though. From what I can tell, we're just stuck until someone happens to pass by.
