Because, naturally, Roxas doesn't dare try to climb the rope at the same time Axel does - he doesn't know if the chakram can hold both their weights, let alone the rope itself, and he's not about to test it after how much trouble they've already had. So he waits for Axel to haul his skinny butt up out of the hole, then goes ahead and grabs the rope himself, beginning to climb up -
