[One of the many ways to make money Crimson Dawn had their hands in was gambling. Sometimes it was through legal means and sometimes not-so-legal. Maul had come to this planet to see how they could possibly fix the racing that went one so that their profit would be able to increase threefold. To know how to be able to cheat the races, he needed to understand the fathiers better, and so he'd gone to the stables. It appeared those placed a little higher in society were being given a tour at the same time. He ignored those already there after he made a quick note of how many there were and if they could possibly pose a threat to him.

The problem was that he'd never seen one up close before. There was just something about those big, sad eyes that made even the psychopathic Sith Lord find the beast cute. He took off his gloves, grabbed a root vegetable from a nearby bin before holding it out to the creature, trying to get it to take it from his hand. He spoke in a soft, gentle tone to the beast, much nicer than he ever was with any sapient beings.]

Grant it, the floors of the Jedi Temple were generally hard, and to Anakin at least, cold. And this wasn't the first time he'd awakened in the night - or worse, not been able to fall into slumber no matter how difficult that day's conditioning, lessons, and training had been.

Which was why he had carefully, softly, slipped through the primarily silent halls and worked quietly and oh-so-quietly at the door until it opened. Inside, he'd placed his boots and belt in an empty corner and waited for his eyes to adjust to the dark.

Thus able to see a little in the dark, he pulled the heavy woolen cloak from its place on the wall and folded it over itself until it made a proper barrier from the floor, the hood folded up to be thicker. And then he curled into a ball on the cloak and wrapped his own, smaller one around himself. From above him, slow breathing in sleep could be heard and it wasn't long before Anakin himself fell into sleep.


Sometime later, Anakin involuntarily flinched as a hard foot impacted against his shoulder and he instinctively curled in tighter on himself. He could hear his Master make a confused and startled sound after in the still darkened room, he'd somehow managed to kick his young Padawan who very much should have been in his own dorm room.

Not sleeping on the floor at the foot of Obi-Wan's bed. Again.

In theory - in theory - it should be impossible for a gifted Jedi knight, especially one said to be as sensitive and alert as Obi-Wan Kenobi, to be surprised by the presense of someone in his bedroom.

But it had been a long day, first with Anakin's training and then running off to deal with a minor disagreement on Abregado, which when he got there turned out not to need a Jedi at all in his opinion. He came back late, was ambushed by Quinlan Vos, who seemed incapable of keeping regular sleep hours, and by the time he made his way into his room his Force sensitivity was clouded by the heavy fog of needing to sleep.

It could also be that Anakin posed no threat at all to him and so he didn't even register him as something to avoid.

Having then kicked his young Padawan, he sighed, annoyed at himself, and unable to deny a flash of exasperation as he rubs a hand over his tired face.

Of course he couldn't sleep yet. That would be too kind.

"Anakin," he said, his voice clipped and clear in the dark silence of his room, and probably sounding slightly more annoyed than he intended it. "You're in my room again."
