Ask Me Anything!

  1. In your subject line or toplevel, post something for others to ask your character about.
  2. Examples could be "I am a Starfleet Captain", or "I fought dinosaurs on Isla Nublar", or "I am on a quest of vengeance in 1657 Japan."
  3. Others will come in and ask them anything!
  4. Honesty is optional. :3

I am a sphere hunter searching for Spira's lost history.

Was this history lost to time or something more insidious?
crimsonsphere: (And in your man-made dark.)

Insidious. Definitely insidious. "World ruled by the Church of Lies and Death for a thousand years" insidious.

I hope that wasn't their actual name. Though it would be a bold marketing choice if it were.

Are you the sole sphere seeker?
crimsonsphere: (I'm thinking targets.)

Heh, they were a little more subtle than that. They just named it after the man who started the problem and then buried the truth about him.

There's plenty of us. And some of us really are after the history, and not just using it as an excuse to plunder ruins or act like pirates.

I believe there's a saying for that. What's in a name? Normally, something hidden for good reason.

Why is reclaiming this history so important to you? To overthrow this church?
crimsonsphere: (But we cannot escape the past.)

[personal profile] crimsonsphere 2024-05-06 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. Interesting version of the saying.

[Her name is Paine. It's a coincidence, but...]

The 'overthrowing' part is taken care of. Now we're busy picking up the pieces... trying to understand what's true and what isn't.

One of the joys of language is playing with it. Or do you prefer a plainer approach?

A difficult feat, no doubt. Truth so easily becomes muddled in myth.
crimsonsphere: (They've come upon something rare.)

I don't like wasting time. [Which means 'yes.']

Muddled, buried, torn apart--we've found broken video spheres before. And then you get people who are only interested in seeing what confirms what they already think, whether or not they're right.

Now that sounds like the kind of adventure I could get behind.

I've got to admit, it's been a pretty interesting year. A lot of trouble, but interesting.

Are you doing it for the history aspect or because of the dangers that lie in that sort of activity?
crimsonsphere: (Down the river deep 'n wild.)

[personal profile] crimsonsphere 2024-05-09 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
History, definitely. I don't mind the dangerous parts, but they get annoying sometimes.

[ He laughs a little, nodding his head. ]

That's like music to my ears. I feel like not enough people care about history anymore.

Sounds like a fruitful business.

[ Ever the optimist, this guy. ]

What have you found thus far?
crimsonsphere: (Burned away the haze.)

[Whoa.

She's heard his voice. Never thought she'd actually see his face.]

...Mostly? We've found more questions than answers.

[ A soft chuckle escapes past the neck piece of his armor. Not borne from jolly amusement—there is merely a familiarity here that tickles him. ]

Then you must have caught glimpses of Yevon's true past, wrought with contradictions that lead those seeking answers into the heart of its paradox.

[ Ironically, little does he know. ]
crimsonsphere: (We live in every moment but this one.)

[personal profile] crimsonsphere 2024-05-09 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you could say that. I'm pretty sure they don't know about everything they've buried over the past thousand years. [Like a squirrel forgetting where it's hidden its caches.] Even under their own city. Did you know that they had a second, worse labyrinth under Bevelle?
nog: “it all begins here.” (all or nothing)

ahhh, I missed the notification! glad I checked back - my apologies 🙏

( Auron, who is typically stoic, lifts an eyebrow at the unexpected news. A beat passes before his curious expression softens into a light smirk as he feels amused by his own reaction. )

Even after all these years, Yevon still manages to outdo itself with revelations of its past.

...Dare I ask? ( The question is clearly rhetorical, as subtle hints in his stare reveal a longing for the information. The part of him that still clings to life is personally invested in the unraveling of Yevon's thread—and perhaps always will be. )
