A new year and a fresh start

Yes, it's that time of year, time to set yourself to a strict regimen of self-improvement and wild optimism about your own sense of discipline. Whether it's a plan to eat 5 fresh fruits and vegetables a day, to be more emotionally honest, or to stop letting that demon in your head use your body to go on murderous rampages, declare it before one and all.
1. Post your character!
2. In your character's toplevel, write down one or more New Years' resolutions that they will really, really try to follow.
3. Tag around and commentate!
To be a kinder and more compassionate person.

If... you don't mind me asking, I think there was something about a curse? You don't have to talk about it. [A beat, and then more honestly:] I'm just overly curious sometimes.

[A pause, as she hesitates before continuing. Expression softening.]
They must've thought people would be afraid of what you look like. I know it probably won't mean much, but I'm not scared of you at all. I'd even happily talk to you more, if there's a possibility that you'd want that too.

[A decision that he'd been regretting ever since.
He did smile just a little at Cora's kind words.]
.....Thank you. It means a lot to hear not everyone is afraid of me.

When you're breaking old habits, it helps to form new ones.

Do you have any suggestions for what kind of habits?

Impatience can make us angry and rude. Learning to slow down and appreciate each moment makes it easier to be patient.
It also helps to remember that other people exist even when you're not around them. If you can learn that, compassion comes easier. I could judge you for not being kind and compassionate enough, but I don't know how mean you really are, or why you feel like you need to change. Those are things I think about when I'm forgiving myself for mistakes so why shouldn't I do the same for you?

[ But it sounds like this... Person? He speaks like a man. It sounds like this man is wealthy. Admittedly, that comes with privealge that makes it easier to assume the world owes you. ]
But the reward for remembering will last a lot longer than a moment of selfishness.

[But at least he was finally getting better at it!]
