No. But I assumed the role of man and king both.

So, how old are you? You look about my age.

My reign lasted into my thirties, although drawing the sword from the stone granted me youthfulness beyond my years. My reign itself was... almost fourteen hundred years ago, if my reckoning is correct.

[ Luke isn't such an idiot that he'd believe this in his everyday life, but this is a special place where special things happen. And he's talking to King Arthur! ]

So why'd you choose to become a guy instead of putting the sword back and telling one of them that if they were so great, they could try? You'd be the only one who could do it, right?

Because I was the only one who could do it. Because I believed with all my heart that if I could bring joy and peace to even a part of the kingdom, that I should try. Because it was necessary. I could have led an ordinary, quiet life - but the realm needed a king.

Yeah, that's my point! You could've pointed to them and told them that you held all the cards so you'd rule the country and kick ass, but you'd do it as you were!

Unless you wanted to do the guy thing.

... Or I guess? That's pretty easy for me to say here, huh? Being in college is a lot easier than having to rule a country, even if you are King Arthur.

Queens were not exactly common in the era. So I had to be a king.

It's a very long story. And potentially quite complicated.

What does somebody who used to be a king do now?

These days? I try to discover a little life of my own now that the burden is lifted from my shoulders.

Do you watch movies and stuff? Or travel? Maybe being a king would make you feel couped up, but if I popped into the future and had never heard of TV, I'd be pretty amazed.

I do occasionally watch entertainment... and I have traveled somewhat. I was granted knowledge of such things when I arrived in this era.
